Application Conditions and Application Costs

The MM2H visa application has two stages: “Document application” and “Main application”. The first stage, “Document Application,” is a document review, which mainly looks at the applicant’s income and asset status. If the examination is successful, a temporary approval letter will be issued. In the second step, the applicant travels to Malaysia as a “main application” and performs visa acquisition procedures. Application conditions vary depending on the age of the applicant, so please check the applicable application conditions. Application condition

Applicants under the age of 50

It is necessary to meet all the conditions 1 to 3 below. In addition, although the explanation is based on the amount converted at RM1 = approx. 28 yen, please be aware that the exchange rate will fluctuate.

1. Proof of income of RM 10,000 per month (about 280,000 yen by hand)
A) Income includes salary, executive compensation, etc.
B) Proof of income is required to be certified for a fixed amount each month for 3 months starting from the time of application.
C) 10,000 ringgit is the amount of money taken (the amount recorded in the bank passbook).
D) The income money is always deposited in the bank, and it is necessary to be able to confirm it with a bank passbook or online statement. If you are a self-employed person who earns cash, you need to apply to the bank after you have deposited it and can prove it.
E) For proof of income, you will need a “salary statement” and a “copy of your bank passbook” with your income.

2. Asset certification of RM 500,000 (about 14 million yen)
A) Bank deposits (regular or fixed term) can be used for asset certification.
B) Asset certification is required to be certified for a fixed amount each month for 3 months starting from the time of application.
C) For asset certification, submit a “balance certificate (English)” issued by a financial institution.
D) The amount must be specified on the “Balance Certificate (English)”.
E) If you apply at the same time as your spouse, you can also add asset certification in the name of your spouse.
F) Real estate is not recognized at all in asset certification.

3. Time deposit of RM300,000 (approx. 8.4 million yen) to a bank in Malaysia
A) The time deposit must be a financial institution in Malaysia, and the deposit currency will be Malaysian ringgit.
B) The time deposit can be used from RM500,000 in asset certification.
C) From the second year onward, it is possible to withdraw RM150,000 only for the purpose of medical expenses, purchase of a house, education expenses of accompanying children, purchase of a new car.

Applicants must be 50 or older

F) For proof of income, you will need a “pension notice” or “salary statement” and a “copy of bank passbook” with income.

2. Asset certification of RM 350,000 (about 9.8 million yen)
A) Bank deposits (regular or fixed term) can be used for asset certification.
B) Asset certification is required to be certified for a fixed amount each month for 3 months starting from the time of application.
C) For asset certification, submit a “balance certificate (English)” issued by a financial institution.
D) The amount must be specified on the “Balance Certificate (English)”.
E) If you apply at the same time as your spouse, you can also add asset certification in the name of your spouse.
F) Real estate is not recognized at all in asset certification.

3. Time deposit of RM150,000 (about 4.2 million yen) to a bank in Malaysia.
A) The time deposit must be a financial institution in Malaysia, and the deposit currency will be Malaysian ringgit.
B) The time deposit can be used from RM350,000 in asset certification.
C) From the second year onward, you can withdraw RM50,000 only for the purpose of medical expenses, home purchase, educational expenses for accompanying children, and new car purchase.

    STEP 1:

    Apply

    Please check the application conditions and contact us. We will check your application conditions, and if there is no problem, please conclude the contract and deposit the application fee.

    STEP 2:

    Preparation and submission of application documents

    Please prepare the documents and certificates to be submitted to Malaysia Tourism and Immigration Bureau and mail them to us. To prevent any mistakes, please send us various certificates by email and we will check them. After preparing the documents and translating/certifying the certificate into English, we will submit it to the Malaysia Tourism Board/Immigration Bureau.

    STEP 4:

    Issuance of temporary approval letter

    After the documents are reviewed, the Malaysia Tourism Board and Immigration Bureau will issue a temporary approval letter. It will take about 90 days after the documents are submitted before the temporary approval letter is issued.
    *As of October 2016, it will take approximately 4 months until the provisional approval letter is issued.
    *If the application is rejected, we will correct the deficiency and apply for re-examination from us.

    STEP 4:

    This application in Malaysia 

    Applicants will complete this application process in Malaysia within 6 months from the effective date of the provisional approval letter. Our staff will accompany you in the company car from this application procedure to obtaining your visa.
